CleanCo Demolition Cost Estimate
AEP Elical updated CleanCo’s cost estimate for the demolition of their fixed plant and infrastructure. AEP reviewed and updated rates for Kareeya Power Station, Barron Gorge Power Station and Wivenhoe Power Station. Based on the site and documentation reviews, requests for additions and feedback was provided to CleanCo. CleanCo’s 2024 reports were updated based on the new input.
AEP Elical was engaged to undertake a structural assessment of Hatch designs for the new launder and tapping floor (replacing the plant installed during Transformation). Later on, AEP was engaged to undertake additional scope including design of the fishtail walkways, new southern and northern laydown platforms, and clash checks for the monorail system.
AEP Elical was engaged to undertake a concept study, followed by detailed design of structural modifications required to provide access for slag removal under the Slag Caster tail end support frame. As part of this project, AEP Elical undertook a structural integrity audit for the TSL Slag Caster Support Structure as well as additional scope in replacement of existing primary beam in the TSL plant and shedder plates to lengthen design life.
Nyrstar Port Pirie (Nyrstar) engaged AEP Elical to undertake Concept Design and Detailed Engineering Design for the Slag Caster Bin Discharge Chute.
AEP Elical undertook the electrical, controls and communications work associated with the study to conduct a high-level condition assessment and then develop an order of magnitude estimate for capital expenditure for the electrical infrastructure.
AEP Elical completed a preliminary design solution to increase the flotation concentrate handling capacity within the Peak Downs plant.
AEP Elical was engaged for the detailed design of a number of modifications to the newly commissioned TSL Furnace Building.
AEP Elical undertook the Olympic Dam BFX project Asset Integrity & Maintenance Strategy study as planning component of the proposed $2.75 billion Brownfields Expansion.
AEP Elical completed asset integrity review of the Material Handling System (MHS) for the BHP Olympic Dam mine.
AEP Elical was engaged to provide a peer review of the design of proposed modifications to the supporting structure for the proposed new super hopper.
AEP Elical was engaged to perform electrical safety review and basic electrical field checks across the site to evaluate and report on site management and control for effective current safe systems on work.
AEP Elical was engaged to undertake a structural inspection and condition report on the copper smelter crushing plant, a concept design to improve access to the bosh tank and a preliminary inspection of one of the two cooling towers.
AEP Elical was engaged to perform a structural and mechanical review of the headframe for the R62 Winder to determine the capacity of the headframe to withstand induced strains as a result of differential movement between the supporting legs.
This project included the upgrade of the lead smelting facility and introduction of the advanced metal recovery facility at Nyrstar's Port Pirie operations.
AEP Elical performed a structural audit on existing TPC ROM Hopper concrete structure and the capacity of the structure to accommodate the loading cases associated w/ ROM grizzly re-design (by AEP Elical also).
AEP Elical completed an asset condition for the BMA Goonyella and Riverside coal processing facilities, including stockpile areas, processing plants and the train load-out facilities as part of the Goonyella Expansion selection phase study.
AEP Elical was engaged to undertake detailed design for modifications to the slag caster fume hoods. These modifications were required to provide clearance for a launder cleaning machine to be transported via the Monorails to/from the new northern and southern platform via the new launders.
