AEP Elical provided technical support for the integration of a new solar and battery system at Weipa, enhancing the existing 1.6MW solar farm with an additional 4MW solar capacity and 4MW/4MWh battery, delivering 11 gigawatt hours of energy annually.

EDL West Musgrave FEED Hybrid Power System

AEP Elical supported EDL Energy on the hybrid power system design for the West Musgrave mine FEED project in Western Australia. The system was entirely off-grid and utilised wind turbines, solar farms, a battery system and off-grid gas/diesel engine power plant.
Loy Yang A Arc Flash Study

AEP Elical conducted an Arc Flash Study for AGL Energy’s Loy Yang 'A' Power Station, developing a power system model and recommending protective device upgrades to reduce incident energy levels, ultimately achieving compliance with safety standards and mitigating risks.

Origin Energy Mortlake Power Station BESS

Origin Energy were developing a 300 MW 2 hour BESS at their Mortlake PS site in south-western Victoria. AEP Elical were engaged to undertake the Development Management for the project and technical support. AEP assisted in applying for an ARENA grant for the project which was awarded to Origin Energy.
Origin Darling Downs Power Station BESS

AEP Elical provided Development Management and technical support for a BESS at their power station site. The project first stage was 250 MW 2 hours with the design allowing for ultimate expansion to a 500 MW 4 hour facility.
AGL Torrens Island Power Station A System Review

AEP Elical assessed various configurations for the electrical units at Torrens Island Power Station (TIPS) A, including mothballing options, and developed cost estimates based on market potential.
EDL Power Station Upgrade

AEP Elical supported CleanCo in developing a wind farm by applying expertise in controls/SCADA, electrical and civil engineering, and project management, further strengthening their long-standing client relationship.
Harmony Gold Heap Leach Process Advice

Harmony Gold and Morobe Consolidated Goldfields (MCG) engaged AEP Elical to assess the heap leach potential of ore at the Hidden Valley / Kaveroi Pit, conducting a Concept Study that included test work review, risk assessments, and design evaluations to support a pre-feasibility study.
Multicom Julia Creek R&D Plant

Nyrstar Slag Caster Frame Replacement

AEP Elical conducted a concept study and detailed design for structural modifications to enable access for slag removal under the Slag Caster tail end support frame, including a structural integrity audit of the TSL Slag Caster Support Structure and replacement of primary beams and shedder plates to extend the design life.
Nyrstar Slag Granulation Water Upgrade Detailed Design

AEP Elical undertook the detailed design engineering works for Nyrstar Port Pirie to provide process engineering and design and project delivery services for Nyrstar's preferred option to install a new settling pond, cooling tower, pumps and other associated equipment to upgrade the current open loop Slag Granulation and Dewatering System to a closed loop system for the granulation water

Mine Infrastructure Review

AEP Elical provided recommendations on the future development of the Mine Infrastructure Area at the BMA Norwich Park Mine to enable operations to recommence. AEP Elical provided expert advice to assess four options for the Mine Infrastrucutre Area that cover refurbishments, upgrades and replacement of some or all of the existing plant.
Rio Tinto Aluminium Weipa Infrastructure Life Extension Study

AEP Elical conducted a high-level condition assessment of electrical infrastructure, including power generation, motor control centers, control systems, and communications, while preparing a capital expenditure estimate to extend asset life by 25-40 years.
BHP BFX Olympic Dam Asset Integrity and Maintenance Review

AEP Elical conducted the Asset Integrity & Maintenance Strategy study for the Olympic Dam BFX project, assessing the operational life and risk categories of the mine’s material handling and processing infrastructure, providing critical data for planning and prioritization in the $2.75 billion Brownfields Expansion pre-feasibility phase.
