Electrical Engineer | Project Coordinator
Steve is an electrical engineer having started with AEP Elical in late 2018. Steve has gained varied industry experience in Project Management, Electrical Systems Design, Electrical Drafting and Project Controls, having played a key role in the Nyrstar Port Pirie Slag Fuming Plant Upgrade Project, EDL Wingfield 2 Biodome Project and South32 Eagle Downs Structural Integrity Audits. Other key clients include BHP, BMA, Willmar Sugar Mills, AMS Group and Glencore / Mount Isa Mine.
Steve undertook electrical systems design and drafting works in accordance with AS3000:2018 wiring rules and EDL company standards on the EDL Wingfield 2 Biodome Project. His responsibilities included cable and conduit layouts, power cable design, instrumentation layouts and input to the electrical supply and installation scope of work document. He was also jointly responsible for project management, progress tracking, stakeholder engagement and document controls.
On the BHP Olympic Dam Process Control System Platform Selection Study, Steve provided technical input into the development of several high-level digital strategy documents including: the HMI Operating Philosophy; KPIs, Metrics and APC Strategy, and; Remote Switching Standard. He has also developed and improved AEP Elical project management workflows, company procedures and operational toolkits through his interests in Business Process Improvement and Continual Quality Improvement.
With a strong technical background in control and instrumentation engineering, systems design and economic reasoning, Steve consistently brings forward creative, cost-effective solutions to difficult problems. He has developed a collaborative working style and excels at liaising with clients, stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve optimal client-centric outcomes.
