Matthew Vanderburg

Principal Communications and Controls System Specialist

Matthew is a highly experienced Industrial Control Systems specialist with extensive technical capability as well as proven capability in Project Delivery. His technical expertise includes SCADA, control systems and communications systems and he has applied these skills in many industries including mining, water, power generation and industrial.

Matthew has extensive experience in SCADA and control systems for power systems, water utilities and mining/heavy industrial applications. He led a company focused on energy management systems for many years where he was involved in projects throughout Australia and internationally. He led the design and integration for the control/SCADA system for QCoal’s Byerwen power systems project. He has undertaken a number of projects with EDL in improving operation of their remote power generation and distribution systems including optimization of operation.

Matthew was a Control Systems Engineer at Citect (Ci Technologies) where he helped develop the Citect Certified Engineer testing. He led the implementation of the Server and control systems network for the Olympic Dam Expansion project - the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere at that time. Matthew began his career in the Royal Australian Air Force as a Communications and Electronics Technician specialising in advanced communications and Radar. He has significantly enhanced his skills in communications throughout his career.
