Bill Toohey

Senior Electrical Engineer

Bill has over 30 years of experience as an electrical engineer and more recently as a Design Manager or Design Director, including over 20 year in senior position with Jacobs. Over the last 20 years, most of Bill’s work has been related to the electricity transmission and distribution sector and the connection of various forms of generation to the grid.

Specific projects relevant to this assignment include being a Design Director for Jacob’s role as detailed design engineer to SP AusNet (now Mondo) for the transmission connection assets for Dundonnell Wind Farm 500kV and 220kV, Stockyard Hill 500kV and 132kV, Bulgana Wind Farm 220kV and Crowlands Wind Farm 220kV. These project typical involved substation and overhead line works and covered power system studies, primary design, SCADA design and protection design and settings.

Bill has previously undertaken the role of a Design Director or Design Manager on behalf of Jacobs as engineer to SP AusNet for numerous transmission asset replacement projects from 500kV to 66kV.

Bill has also worked as a Lead Engineer or Manager for several due diligence assignments for the purchase of assets, including the Victorian transmission system (now SP AusNet) and elements of the Victorian distribution system (now Powercor, CitiPower).
